We won the "Best Paper in Application" award with our paper "Non Contact Monitoring of Preterm Infants Using RGB-D Camera" @ ASME/IEEE International Conference on Mechatronic and Embedded Systems and Applications (MESA 2015) - Boston, MA, USA.


Ph.D. student Daniele Liciotti attended at the ICVSS 2015 (International Computer Vision Summer School) in Scicli (Italy) from 12-18 July 2015.
The focus of ninth edition of the International Computer Vision Summer School is to study fundamental and advanced methods aimed to discover new challenges and trends of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Neural Networks, from theory to practice.

International Summer School on Machine Learning

Ph.D. students Annalisa Cenci and Marina Paolanti attended at the INIT/AERFAI Summer School 2015 (International summer school on machine learning) organized by the Institute of New Imaging Technologies (INIT) of the University Jaume I of Castellón, and co-sponsored by the Spanish Association of Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis (AERFAI) in Benicassim (Spain) from 22-26 June 2015.
The focus of this Summer School is to study fundamental and advanced methods aimed to discover new challenges and trends of Machine Learning, DataAnalysis and Data Mining, from theory to practice.

PhD. student Daniele Liciotti attended at the IEEE ICC15 conference (IEEE International Conference on Communications) in London (UK) last 8-12th june 2015.
He presented the manuscript "Human Activity Analysis for in-home Fall Risk Assessment" in the workshop on ICT-enabled services and technologies for eHealth and Ambient Assisted Living.

The horizon has changed

#YFF - The future of the web app

May 18th, 2015 at the cLab of Università Politecnica delle Marche, there was the first talking about the future of Your Future Festival entitled "The future of the web app". 

Today the network services are in expansion and they are a dynamic future, which will revolutionize the world. In a not too distant future all PCs will be connected to powerful servers that will give users all the possible services without having to install or have anything on their computer. The programs themselves no longer have to be installed, since they will be on the network. The speakers were Dr. Emanuele Frontoni, Professor of the Department of Information Engineering of the Università Politecnica Marche with Roberto Pierdicca and Rama Pollini, PhD students of the Department of Information Engineering of the Università Politecnica Marche.

HDOMO 2.0 presentation of the final demo

April 14th, 2015 in Ascoli Piceno, at the Conference Room of Proietti Planet, was presented the project HDOMO 2.0. It is an Ambient Assisted Living project that intercepts the opportunities of the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020".

Marche is the region with a national record for male longevity (mean, 80.4 years) and female longevity (85.4 years): for this reason HDomo was born, a business network that after benefiting from regional funding has decided to go ahead with its plans to the Ambient Assisted Living, thanks to the support in the research departments of the Università Politecnica delle Marche.

At the press conference, after the introduction of Filippo Del Prete, leader of the project and manager of APRA, and Luigi Proietti of Proietti Planet have participated Dr. Emanuele Frontoni, Professor of the Department of Information Engineering of the Università Politecnica Marche, the President of the Camera di Commercio of Ascoli Piceno, Gino Sabatini, the Mayor of Ascoli Piceno, Guido Castelli, Lorena Rossi of INRCA and Giuliano Gabbarini of APRA.
